American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

• Work in a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit
• Care for medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and significantly altered hemodynamics requiring telemetry monitoring
• 12-hour day shift schedule,
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI monitoring
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius, with local candidates accepted at a lower rate
