Relay Technician

Overview

Paducah Power System is seeking a Relay Technician. The technician will configure and test PPS protective relays, SCADA equipment, meters, and other intelligent electronic devices and related equipment. The position reports directly to the Manager of Technical Services.

• Configure and test protective relays, SCADA, meters, and intelligent electronic devices.
• Install and maintain relay and metering equipment.
• Use Windows and Linux operating systems effectively.
• Work independently and take initiative to maintain reliable service.
• Provide non‑standard hours and overtime as needed.
• Live within a 30‑minute response time to Paducah Power System.

• Must have thorough knowledge of electric power system operations, techniques, materials and equipment required for relay and metering installations.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux based operating systems.
• Education in electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.

• Pay commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
• Open to recent graduates with less experience.
