Application Guide - Manufactured Dwelling Placement Prerequisites
Prior to applying for the actual placement permit, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Ensure land use requirements are met through Planning, if applicable.
- Ensure there is an approved septic system or approval to install a septic system, if applicable.
- Application Form - Driveway Permit - (a permit technician may have indicated that you may or may not need this permit during your research, confirm via the Ask a Permit Technician Form if you are unsure.)
Reference Forms - used as guidelines for creating your construction plans , site plan, calculations and other important documents that need to be uploaded into the permit. See the document list for how to group these pages together.
Application Instructions (step by step with images)Step 2:Search for your address and then select the Application Type as follows:
- Select Residential - Manufactured Dwelling Placement application type.
- If you were prompted to apply for a Driveway permit during your research, you can also select the Driveway application type at this time as well.
Step 3: Fill in any other necessary information such as the Contact information, contractors assigned to the job, site contact, applicant and any required information which will be marked with a red asterisk (*).
Step 4: Upload all required Documents, view the table below for more details as to what documents are required.
Step 5: Upload the required Documents.
Note: Combine the documents as noted below. For example, you do not need to individually separate out the building cross sections, instead combine it as part of the construction plan pdf.

Photograph and/or brochure from manufactured home dealer, including exterior elevation and ridge height
If you are wanting to build 1 & 2 Family Dwelling, Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) new addition with a bedroom, alteration to an existing home, or building a detached structure to learn more about the research that needs to be conducted prior to applying for the building permit.
