Axcis Education are working closely to support an SEMH school in Torbay for pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The special school are looking for a learning support assistant to start Monday 1st June 2026, or as close to. The school hours are 8.50-3.00 and the rate of this pay for this position is £14.20-£16 p/h, depending on your experience and qualifications.
This is likely to be a permanent position for the right candidate.
For this position, the school are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience of working with children
- Bubbly, friendly and approachable
- Are resilient and can cope under stressful circumstances
- A passion for supporting children with SEMH
The school would also welcome candidates who have additional qualifications, including:
- Experience working with children who have SEMH
- Level 2 Qualification
- Level 3 Qualification
- SEMH or Trauma enforced training
The school exhibit a wide of range of both social, emotional, and mental health and education needs, which can inhibit their progress both inside and outside of the classroom. The schoolwork on trauma enforced principals, providing a flexible curriculum which is centered around the pupils.
