Salary: £21.38 per hour. Plus excellent benefits.

Contract Type: Fixed term contract until 31 st August 2027. Hourly paid, zero hour contract.

Location: Paignton, Devon

Are you an experienced barber with a passion for sharing your skills and supporting the next generation of industry professionals? South Devon College is looking for an enthusiastic Hourly Paid Trainer Facilitator to deliver engaging learning across a range of Barbering programmes.

About the Role:
  • Instruct and facilitate engaging learning sessions for Barbering students.
  • Prepare suitable learning materials and use a variety of delivery methods to meet individual learner needs.
  • Assess students’ work and contribute to verification and moderation processes.
  • Support the planning, development and review of learning programmes and curriculum resources.
  • Provide guidance to learners and contribute to their learning plans, assessments and targets.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Complete accurate course records, registers and other relevant documentation.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, curriculum reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, students and external contacts.
About you:
  • A relevant Barbering qualification at Level 3.
  • Commercial experience within the barbering industry.
  • Previous teaching or training experience.
  • An assessor qualification, such as D32/33 or A units, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • A teaching qualification or a commitment to achieve one within three years.
  • Strong subject knowledge and good IT skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with learners of different ages.
  • A flexible approach and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to equality, safeguarding and ongoing professional development.
