Brief DescriptionWe are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications RequiredGCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
Training to be ProvidedPharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.
Future ProspectsThis is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role
As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service. You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.
Key Duties- Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries
- Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
- Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
- Work as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
- A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Basic IT skills
No previous pharmacy experience is required; full training is provided.
