Health and Safety Supervisor

As Health & Safety Supervisor, you will work closely with managers and frontline teams across SWISCo to promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. You will provide practical advice and support, investigate incidents, deliver training, conduct inspections and audits, and help develop safe systems of work that protect our employees, contractors and the communities we serve.
You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people work safely and wants to develop their career in health and safety. You will be a confident communicator with strong organisational skills, a practical approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to build positive working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
You don't need extensive health and safety experience, but you should have a good understanding of basic health and safety principles, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to engage with colleagues across a variety of operational environments. Most importantly, you'll be proactive, approachable, and committed to promoting a positive safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for keeping themselves and others safe.
KeyDuties
- Building positive relationships with colleagues, contractors and external partners to promote safe working practices.
- Providing health and safety advice and support to managers and employees.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and compliance checks.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying improvements.
- Developing and reviewing risk assessments, safe systems of work and SOPs.
- Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and health & safety training.
- Monitoring health and safety performance and maintaining management systems.
- Supporting health surveillance, PPE management and training compliance.
