Job Summary
The Product Engineer performs standardized assignments involving a sequence of related operations, utilizing knowledge of processes, technologies, designs, and components for new product launches. This role supports engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to effectively translate product requirements and processes to the manufacturing floor. It involves 70% current product maintenance and 30% new product development.
Location
Full-time, onsite at our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and product management to design and develop new products based on customer requirements, including creating drawings and ensuring approval.
- Drive engineering change processes, providing drawings and overseeing changes to completion.
- Complete and revise BOMs and Routers for all new and current parts.
- Ensure smooth transfer of new products to production through design reviews and validations.
- Participate in process and test development for successful product launches.
- Assist in prototyping and collaborate with the prototype lab for customer approvals.
- Manage engineering changes in collaboration with design, production, and quality teams.
- Assist in designing and creating tooling and fixtures as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- At least 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical product development.
- Proficiency in Solid Works required.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, machine shop equipment, and programming is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions.
