Position SummaryProvide care, comfort, safety and supervision to residents by assisting with activities of daily living and attending to their individualized needs while learning each resident’s preferences and personalities to ensure a safe, protected, clean and orderly environment.

Essential Job Functions- Arrive punctually at scheduled shift time.
- Understand, comply with, and promote resident rights.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident health information (HIPAA).
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors and co‑workers.
- Review and provide resident care as outlined in the care plan at the beginning of shift.
- Review the Medication Administration Record (MAR) daily and confirm accuracy against physician orders before administering medications.
- Review incoming physician orders for accuracy and update the MAR accordingly.
- Check medication container labels against pharmacy labels to ensure correct resident, drug, dosage, and frequency.
- Conduct monthly MAR audits using the five rights and provide feedback to the Health and Wellness Director.
- Administer medications according to care plans and record immediately in the MAR.
- Order and reorder medications per policy to prevent stockouts.
- Answer residents’ call signals; respond to door alarms, fire alarms, etc.
- Assist residents with turning, repositioning, moving in/out of bed, toileting, personal hygiene (including monitoring incontinence), walking and exercise.
- Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes (food/liquid intake, vital signs, skin concerns, weight, signs of injury or neglect) and communicate to the Health and Wellness Director.
- Complete daily charting and documentation as required.
- Encourage residents to eat and take sufficient fluids and snacks.
- Display a caring, respectful and positive attitude toward residents, families and co‑workers.
- Understand and comply with universal precautions, infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices.
- Adhere to procedures regarding equipment and hazardous materials and report incidents promptly.
- Attend mandatory in‑service meetings and continuing education opportunities as required.
- Capture ancillary supply costs for billable supplies provided to residents.
- Clean spills, soiled areas and other conditions as directed.
- Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
- Assist with kitchen and dining tasks: preparatory work, serving, cleaning, setting tables, taking out trash.
- Participate in new‑hire job shadowing, orientation and training as required.
- Participate in or lead leisure activities planned by the Life Engagement team and remind residents to participate.
- Perform other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility.
