Good accountants can produce the numbers. The best ones understand what those numbers mean, question what doesn’t look right and find smarter ways to get the work done. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of your own client portfolio while using cloud technology, automation and AI to improve how financial information is produced and used.
You’ll work directly with ambitious businesses turning over between £1m and £10m, becoming closely involved in their finance operations rather than simply completing compliance work from a distance. With every Friday off, you’ll also have the space to build your career while helping shape a more technology-led approach to accountancy.
What’s in it for you- £32,000–£36,000 salary for a 32-hour, four-day working week, equivalent to approximately £37,500–£42,200 based on 37.5 hours.
- Every Friday off, giving you a genuine three-day weekend every week.
- Ownership of your own client portfolio, working directly with business owners and their teams.
- Exposure to advanced cloud accounting, automation, AI and developing finance technology.
- Direct access to and support from the Director, with opportunities to contribute ideas and influence how the business works.
- A modern, high-spec Paisley town centre office with private parking, approximately five minutes from the train station.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of clients, including processing, reconciliations, VAT returns and annual accounts.
- Ensure the underlying financial information is accurate, fully reconciled and ready for the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
- Manage client deadlines and workflow while communicating directly with business owners by phone, email and in meetings.
- Improve clients’ accounting systems and processes using Quick Books Online and connected cloud applications.
- Identify repetitive manual tasks that can be streamlined through automation, AI and emerging technology.
- Contribute ideas that improve the quality and speed of financial information available to clients.
- Strong practical accounting experience, with the ability to understand, review and interpret a set of accounts rather than simply produce one.
- AAT, part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or qualified by experience. The quality of your work and practical accounting experience matter more to us than the letters after your name.
- Experience managing your own workload and dealing directly with clients or business owners.
- Proven ability to spot errors, investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting problems independently.
- Experience with cloud accounting applications, ideally including Quick Books Online, with the ability to learn and adopt new technology.
