Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions;
Construction, Fit Out, Refurbishment, Retail, Housing and Maintenance. ​We employ over 280 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland.

Clark Contracts is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing Refurbishment Division. This is an opportunity to lead a portfolio of exciting projects, develop high-performing teams and play a key role in the continued success and growth of one of Scotland's most respected construction businesses.

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative management team, you will oversee multiple refurbishment projects across Scotland, providing leadership, direction and support to Site Managers and project teams from pre-construction through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop Site Managers and project teams across multiple projects.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and monitor construction programmes, methodologies and logistics strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Estimating and Design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project risk, procurement, design coordination and operational performance.
  • Champion health & safety, quality assurance and project governance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and promote best practice across the division.
  • Support business development activities and help secure repeat business opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager within a main contractor environment.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • Strong planning, programming and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • SMSTS qualification and a strong commitment to health & safety.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
