Pay Rate: £13.75 - £15.66 per hour (depending on experience)

Do you have a passion for helping children flourish and reach their full potential? We’re looking for a Behaviour Support Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive primary school in Waterloo. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who need extra guidance, encouragement, and emotional support.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, helping them feel safe and understood.
  • Build strong, positive relationships that foster trust and confidence, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO team to implement tailored strategies that promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Encourage resilience and self-esteem
    , supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom to develop essential life skills.
  • Monitor progress and celebrate achievements
    , ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Experience in behaviour support or SEN is desirable, but not essential – a caring, patient, and proactive attitude is key.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact in children’s lives.
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
