Tech Native provides industry-led training and skills development programmes to build the AI and digital workforce across Sussex. Alongside our government-funded Skills Bootcamps, we are launching a range of short courses that help working professionals and small and medium-sized businesses adopt AI confidently, safely and productively in their day-to-day work.
We are building a pool of freelance associate trainers to deliver these courses, and we would like to hear from practitioners who use AI in real work and can teach it well.
The opportunityThere is strong demand from SMEs and individual professionals for practical, non-technical AI training that goes beyond awareness sessions and tool demonstrations. Most provision in the market teaches a single tool or pitches at executive strategy level. Far less of it helps teams actually change how they work. That is the space these courses occupy.
We are developing a range of short courses across a spread of topics, and we expect the range to grow as demand becomes clearer. Associate trainers can deliver across several areas or specialise in one or two. Current and planned course areas include:
- AI tools for everyday work: confident, effective use of tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and others in real workplace tasks.
- AI governance and safe use: data protection, confidentiality, accuracy, responsible use and practical policy for smaller organisations.
- Workflow adoption: redesigning everyday processes around AI so teams become more productive in a consistent, sustainable way.
- Automation: connecting tools and automating routine tasks to remove repetitive work.
- Low-code building: building useful internal tools, apps and agents without a software development background.
This list is indicative rather than fixed. If you bring depth in a related, practical area of applied AI, we would still like to hear from you.
The roleAs a freelance associate trainer, you would deliver one or more of our courses to an agreed course outline, adapting within it to suit the group in the room. Course materials and structure are provided; your job is to bring current tooling, genuine practice and workplace context to the session, and to teach in a way that leaves participants able to apply what they have learned the next working day.
Courses will run in a mix of formats: open courses where individuals book a place, and in-house sessions delivered to a single employer's team.
Most delivery is online, which lets us reach professionals and businesses wherever they are. In-house employer days are often delivered in person, and there are occasional in-person open days in Sussex and the South East where there is local demand. You would be told the format, audience and any venue for each engagement in advance.
Shortlisted applicants are asked to deliver a short micro-teach, around fifteen minutes, to a small panel as part of selection, so we can see how you teach as well as what you know.
