Senior Civil Engineer

Take ownership. Work directly with clients. Deliver varied civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Scotland.

£40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Mac Leod+Jordan is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing consultancy team. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early feasibility and concept development through detailed design and construction support.

• Lead the design and delivery of drainage, SuDS, roads, earthworks and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare and check civil engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Manage projects from initial enquiry and feasibility through detailed design, approvals and construction.
• Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, Scottish local authorities, Scottish Water and other members of the design team.
• Undertake site inspections and visits where required.
• Review and check civil engineering calculations and drawings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate and junior engineers.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Relevant civil engineering experience within a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical ability in roads, drainage, SuDS, earthworks and infrastructure design, with good knowledge of relevant UK and Scottish standards and approval processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients and construction professionals.
• Experience with Civil 3D and drainage design software, or equivalent.
• Ability to manage your own workload and take responsibility for project delivery.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE, or demonstrable progress towards professional qualification, is desirable.
