One Ren is seeking a dynamic and creative Freelance Book Festival Programmer to join the team to build on the success of the 2026 festival programme.
The eighth edition of Paisley Book Festival will take place between 13 and 16 May 2027, coinciding with the opening year of Paisley Museum. The programme should include core festival events and a series of industry-led workshops held within One Ren’s newly transformed venues Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Central Library.
The Programmer will liaise directly with a range of One Ren teams to support the development and delivery of the 2027 Paisley Book Festival, the associated schools’ programme, as well as the Family Day event.
Timeframe: August—May 2027
Fee: £14,700 (Approx 2 days a week, based on 7 hrs per day at £31 per hour for 34 weeks)
Key Responsibilities- Build on the success of the 2026 festival programme.
- Design and program core festival events and industry-led workshops for the 2027 edition.
- Coordinate with venue management at Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Central Library for event execution.
- Partner with One Ren teams to develop and deliver the schools’ programme and Family Day event.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the festival meets its objectives and engages the community.
- Extensive experience in festival programming, event management, or related cultural events.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging content and coordinate workshops.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
