Senior Home Care Worker (Permanent) (Full Time)
Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Care at Home team as a Senior Home Care Worker. This is a key frontline leadership role where you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care and support across the Renfrewshire area.
Responsibilities- Supervise and support a team of Home Care Workers, ensuring services are delivered in line with Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC codes of practice, and Renfrewshire HSCP policies.
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance, mentoring, and coaching to staff, helping them develop their skills and maintain safe, effective working practices.
- Monitor service delivery, maintain accurate Personal Support Plans and medication records, ensuring the people we support receive the best possible care tailored to their individual needs and outcomes.
- Respond to unplanned situations such as staff absences to maintain service continuity.
- Attend service user reviews, liaise with families and professionals, and contribute to service development through regular team meetings and feedback to your Service Coordinator.
- Use handheld digital devices to manage schedules and record information in line with GDPR and service protocols.
- Experience working in a care setting, including delivering personal care and supporting individuals with a range of needs.
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care and Health and Social Care Standards and issues affecting service users, and an awareness of health and safety issues in relation to medication, moving and assistance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well organised with experience of supervising and supporting staff and the ability to motivate and support the team.
- Competent in the use of ICT including MS Office Packages and Council Systems.
- Must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
- Possession of or willingness to work towards achieving an SVQ Level 2 or SCQF Level 5 or above is essential.
- Possession of, or working towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
