The RoleAs an Addictions Nurse, you will work within a multi‑disciplinary team to provide high‑quality care and support to individuals experiencing addiction and mental health challenges. Your role will involve:
- Delivering interventions across a variety of settings, with a strong focus on assertive outreach
- Conducting assessments and developing person‑centred recovery plans
- Engaging therapeutically with service users, including those who are difficult to reach
- Providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to a diverse client group

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Location based in Bank Sneddon Centre
- Fixed‑term post for 12 months
- Full‑time position (37 hours per week)
- Shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
- Functioning as an ADRS Nurse/ key worker within a multi‑disciplinary team for a defined patient caseload.
- The holistic assessment of care needs including risk assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care.
- Carrying out all relevant forms of nursing care pertinent to the needs of individual patients in the least restrictive and disruptive manner as possible.
- Responding to health promotion needs of patients focusing on improving the mental and physical well‑being of patients.
- Identifying, and responding to the needs of patients which might be related to vulnerability, gender, health, domestic abuse, adult/child protection and/or self‑harm.
- Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and carers ensuring that care needs are identified and met within a participative framework demonstrating principles of equality, dignity and respect accounting for spiritual and cultural diversity. Working proactively with other agencies/services (i.e. interpreter services) to aid effective communication.
- A Registered Nurse with Level 1 NMC registration
- Educated to a minimum degree level (or equivalent)
- Able to demonstrate evidence of active and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge and application of physical and/or mental health nursing care
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge and application of risk assessment, including factors impacting on physical/mental health, wellness and recovery
- Able to provide evidence of supervision and reflective practice
- Completion of an evidence‑based psychological therapies / psychological approaches to care formal programme of study
- Evidence of actively working towards postgraduate level study (or equivalent)
- Completion of a recognised mentor preparation programme and/or being a registered mentor
- A minimum of 27 days annual leave, increasing with length of service, plus public holidays
