Our client is a leader within the pharmaceuticals sector who is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their organisation. They are seeking a talented senior legal counsel - IP and Licensing to join their dynamic team.

Reporting into the General Counsel, in this broad role you will provide comprehensive legal support to ensure continued business growth. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, high-quality legal support across a wide spectrum of matters relating to the company's services and products across multiple jurisdictions including the US, Canada and EMEA.

About the Role

As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for providing commercial legal support to the business and wider international sales teams. Key responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements specifically on out-licensing/ in-licensing and development agreements across global territories. Additionally, you will be the point of contact for the business on all patent litigation, pre-litigation and IP licensing matters and take responsibility for protecting the intellectual property of the Group.

You will provide clear, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across the business.

Who You Are:
  • A legal professional with a minimum of 6 years' experience, preferably gained in a leading international law firm or in-house within the pharmaceuticals, medical devices or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable depth of knowledge in and experience with commercial contracts. Ability to identify the material issues in contracts and advise the business in a risk-based manner.
  • Experience with complex, negotiated agreements, ideally in a regulated, technology, life sciences or manufacturing environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of working in a Private Equity environment is desirable.
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions‑focused, with the ability to balance legal risk against business priorities.
  • Strong organisational and management skills with a proven ability to manage both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive "get things done" attitude.
