Job Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) employs around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. Leverndale and Dykebar Hospitals/HSCP Estates Department are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, resilient and hardworking Painter to maintain a wide range of buildings where necessary.
Responsibilities- Join the Estates Workforce responsible for meeting the organisation’s key objectives and the delivery of patient care through effective, efficient and safe operation & maintenance of estates services & systems.
- Participate in the use of FM First PPM & Reactive Maintenance System to ensure statutory compliance and effective maintenance & repairs relating to painting and decorating, meeting audit standards, decoration programme and minor works.
- Organise and manage work load and priorities on a day‑to‑day basis, including participation in work out with normal hours due to access restrictions.
- Maintain statutory compliance with NHS healthcare standards & guidelines for day‑to‑day operational activities of the Estates Department.
- Recognised and registered CITB (or equivalent) craft apprenticeship or City & Guilds appropriate qualification.
- Competent tradesperson with extensive relevant experience in building fabric maintenance, preferably acquired in the health care sector.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Thursday 08.00–16.00 / Friday 08.00–15.30. Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
