Are you an organised and proactive planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in the Scottish Borders, is looking to recruit a Production Planner to join their Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring customer orders are delivered on time while helping to drive efficiency across production operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for planning production activities to ensure customer demand is met efficiently and effectively. Working closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations, you will help optimise production schedules, manage inventory levels, and support continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain production plans to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time.
  • Schedule production lines efficiently to maximise capacity and productivity.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Service and Sales teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Liaise closely with Operations to support safe and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and manage semi‑finished and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Support capacity planning and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and reports.
About You

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and enjoys problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing role.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop.
