Forestry and Land Scotland is recruiting Craftsperson Modern Apprentices to join its Land Management team, offering a structured pathway into a long term career in forestry.

This opportunity suits individuals who enjoy practical outdoor work and want to gain a recognised qualification while helping manage Scotland’s forests and land.

• Working outdoors across a range of forest and land environments.
• Supporting tree planting, fencing and general forest maintenance.
• Assisting with upkeep of visitor facilities such as paths, signage and infrastructure.
• Contributing to environmental and estate management projects.
• Undertaking training towards an SVQ Level 2 in Trees and Timber.

Full time role, 35 hours per week.

Positions available at various locations across Scotland.

• Interest in working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Positive attitude towards health and safety.
• Willingness to learn and complete formal training.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• A full manual UK driving licence or suitable alternative.

No previous forestry qualification is required.

• A structured Modern Apprenticeship programme.
• A recognised qualification in Trees and Timber.
• Hands on experience in Scotland’s national forests.
• Strong long term career prospects within Forestry and Land Scotland.
