As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We're looking for a dedicated Quality Coordinator to join our Environmental Science division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Quality Coordinator to join our team this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in chemistry and laboratory operations, along with knowledge of UKAS 17025 accreditation and MCerts standards, is essential to thrive in this position.
Responsibilities- Support quality functions across Environmental Science laboratories by monitoring QC charts, administering proficiency testing schemes, and investigating non‑conformance reports.
- Conduct internal system and vertical audits, track audit schedules, and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage controlled laboratory documentation including reviewing, amending, and re‑issuing SOPs and quality procedures to maintain ISO
17025 and UKAS compliance. - Assist the Quality Manager in delivering training modules, participating in quality meetings, and monitoring key performance indicators to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Experience with laboratory procedures, principles, methods and instrumentation.
- Computer literacy – specifically knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good understanding of scientific principles, nomenclature and theory.
- Experience and understanding of working to UKAS/MCerts standards.
- Familiarity with forensic laboratory operations and knowledge of Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) Codes of Practice and ILAC standards would be advantageous, as the role may include supporting quality functions in forensic testing environments.
