Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Williamsburgh Housing Association is delighted to offer a part time opportunity to join our Culture and Assurance Team as an Assurance Officer (0.6 FTE). This role has been shaped following a comprehensive review of our services, ensuring we have the right capacity, skills and focus to strengthen governance, risk management and organisational assurance.
As an Assurance Officer, you’ll support the delivery of high quality Health and Safety, compliance and assurance activities across the organisation. You’ll work closely with the Head of Culture & Assurance and colleagues throughout WHA to maintain robust risk management processes, support regulatory returns, coordinate internal audit activity and contribute to strong organisational performance.

This role provides specialist support across Health and Safety, governance, risk, assurance and compliance. You’ll help maintain risk registers, monitor control effectiveness, support internal and external audit processes, prepare assurance reports, and assist with statutory and regulatory submissions.
You’ll also support the coordination of key governance activities, support policy reviews, and ensure accurate, timely information is available to senior managers and Board members. Working collaboratively across WHA, you’ll help embed strong assurance practices that support transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
Who We're Looking forWe’re looking for someone who is detail focused, confident analysing information and able to work proactively across multiple priorities. You’ll bring strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle sensitive or complex information with professionalism.
Experience in governance, compliance, assurance or risk management would be beneficial, but we welcome applicants with transferable skills and a willingness to learn. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy structured work, problem solving and supporting high standards across the organisation.

WHA are a member of the Scottish Housing Associations’ Pension Scheme with options of DC pension schemes for incoming employees to choose from. The rates which will be on offer from 6 th April 2026 will be:
- Scheme 1:
Employee 3% / Employer 6% - Scheme 2:
Employee 5% / Employer 10% - Scheme 3:
Employee 8% / Employer 13%
Scheme 3 will increase at a 1% incremental rate (for both Employer and employee) on an annual basis until it reaches 10% Employee and 15% Employer contribution rates to April 2028.
