Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent charity providing free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and support to people across Renfrewshire. We provide a holistic advice service, helping people understand their rights, maximise their income and find a way forward with the issues affecting their lives.
We are looking for someone with experience of providing advice on welfare rights, housing and money advice issues, with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to manage ongoing casework. You should be approachable, compassionate and committed to providing a high-quality service to clients.
- Deliver holistic advice and support to clients.
- Maximise client’s income through benefits, grants and other available financial support.
- Provide advice and ongoing casework across welfare rights, housing, money and other issues affecting the household.
- Maintain accurate case records, monitor outcomes and ensure work meets Citizens Advice quality standards.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
- Experience of providing advice on welfare rights, housing and money advice issues.
- Experience of supporting individuals or families who may be facing complex circumstances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and competing priorities.
- Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information.
- Good IT skills, including experience of using case management or client-recording systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work in accordance with quality standards, procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external organisations.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Empathetic and supportive.
- Reliable and well organised.
- Trustworthy, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Non-judgemental and committed to treating all clients with dignity and respect.
