Job Description & How to Apply Below

Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent charity providing free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and support to people across Renfrewshire. We provide a holistic advice service, helping people understand their rights, maximise their income and find a way forward with the issues affecting their lives.

Working alongside Home-Start and Save the Children UK, you will provide holistic advice and support to families with babies and children under five who are experiencing poverty or financial hardship. You will help families maximise their income, access benefits and services, address financial challenges and deal with the wider issues affecting their household.

The role will involve working intensively with a smaller number of families, allowing you to provide ongoing, wraparound support tailored to each family’s individual circumstances and help them build greater financial stability and wellbeing.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and families across Renfrewshire while working as part of an innovative, multi-agency partnership.

We are looking for someone with experience of providing advice on welfare rights, housing and money advice issues, with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to manage ongoing casework. • Help families access appropriate services and community support.
  • Build trusted relationships with families and work collaboratively with Home-Start, Save the Children UK and other partner organisations.
  • Coordinate wraparound, whole-family support based on each family’s individual circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate case records, monitor outcomes and ensure work meets Citizens Advice quality standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Good IT skills, including experience of using case management or client-recording systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work in accordance with quality standards, procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external organisations.
Personal Attributes

  • Adaptable and able to respond to the individual needs of families.
