Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Provide direct line management, professional supervision, and performance guidance to a team of Qualified Social Workers, MHOs, and Social Care Assistants. Statutory Compliance:
Oversee complex case management under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, and Adult Support and Protection legislation. Service Integration:
Collaborate with NHS partners, community mental health teams, and third-sector organisations to promote integrated, recovery-focused care pathways. Resource Management:
Manage team resources, caseload distribution, and commissioned care packages to balance service capacity with high standards of care. Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular case reviews, handle service enquiries and complaints, and ensure full adherence to SSSC professional standards and local authority governance.
Qualifications:
Professional Registration:
Active registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker, or with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) / relevant professional body. Vetting:
Valid PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme membership for working with protected adults.
Education:
Recognised professional Social Work qualification (BA Hons, DipSW, MSc) or equivalent health/social care qualification. Mental Health Officer (MHO) status is highly desirable.
Experience:
Proven leadership or management experience within statutory Adult Mental Health or Joint Health & Social Care services. Mobility:
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits and multi-site management across Renfrewshire.
