This is a part-time position based in Palestine, TX. The role may be scheduled for 12 to 21 hours per week
, with instructional hours available on Monday and Wednesday mornings, evenings, or a combination of both
, depending on applicant availability and program needs.
Position reports to the Director of Offsite Programs.
Pay:
Depends on experience, with a base rate of $19/hour.
Design, plan, organize, and deliver contextualized learning instruction for GED students.
Use varied methods of instruction to deliver materials and instruct adult students.
Facilitate a classroom of 10+ students from diverse backgrounds at varying education levels
Maintain attendance documentation and participate in bi-monthly GED teacher meetings in Tyler (6 per year)
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Previous experience with teaching or instruction preferred
Strong time management and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to gather and collect data for reporting
Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience teaching a diverse population of adult learners in a multi-level setting
Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning
