This Physician Assistant (Primary Care) position serves the Central Texas VA Health Care System and Ambulatory Care Service at the Palestine VA Clinic.

• The Physician Assistant is a clinical provider that practices within the Rules and Regulations of the state of licensure.
• The Physician Assistant collaborates with other disciplines to develop, implement, and coordinate a system of patient care delivery that promotes communication, teamwork, high quality care, patient satisfaction, positive outcomes, appropriate utilization of resources and cost-effective services.
• Physician Assistant functions as a provider with advanced education and experience.
• Duties include but are not limited to: demonstrating leadership, experience and creative approaches to management of complex patients; functioning in a variety of leadership roles that influence patient care; organizational processes and/or systems to improve overall outcomes; assisting nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to clarify and meet health goals for individuals, families and specified patient populations; administering injections and performing biopsies;
  
  providing well woman’s healthcare; demonstrating competence in performing emergency/urgent care duties; etc.
