This Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) position serves the Central Texas VA Health Care System and Ambulatory Care Service at the Palestine VA Clinic.

• The Nurse Practitioner is a clinical provider that practices within the Rules and Regulations of the Nursing Practice Act of the state of licensure
• The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with other disciplines to develop - implement - and coordinate a system of patient care delivery that promotes communication - teamwork - high quality care - patient satisfaction - positive outcomes - appropriate utilization of resources and cost-effective services
• The Nurse Practitioner:
  Is a registered nurse with advanced education and experience
• Demonstrates leadership - experience and creative approaches to management of complex patients
• Functions in a variety of leadership roles that influence patient care - organizational processes and/or systems to improve overall outcomes
• Is an expert practitioner who assists nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to clarify and meet health goals for individuals - families and specified patient populations
• Possesses expert knowledge at administering injections and performing biopsies
• Demonstrates competence in providing Well Women's Healthcare
• Demonstrates competence in performing emergency/urgent care duties
