Palisades Park Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and customer-focused

Part-Time Adult Services Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for public service.

• Provide reference, readers’ advisory, and technology assistance to patrons of all ages, with an emphasis on adults.
• Develop, plan, and implement engaging adult programs that reflect community needs and interests.
• Assist with collection development, including selection, cataloging support, and weeding of adult library materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create library displays, outreach events, and promotional activities.
• Work cooperatively with the staff responsible for the Korean language collection.
• Perform other library duties as assigned.

• Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program, or current enrollment in an MLS/MLIS program.
• New Jersey Professional Librarian’s Certificate (or ability to obtain, if applicable).
• Demonstrated experience in customer service, reference services, technology assistance, and adult programming.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to take direction with good humor, maintain a sterling work ethic, and be a self-starter.
• Must be a library enthusiast who enjoys working with the public and thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with BCCLS and Polaris LEAP preferred, but not required.

• 18–24 hours per week.
• Schedule includesweekday evenings and Saturdays (rotation basis).
• Flexibility is required, as schedules may change depending on library needs.

“Good Faith” Salary, Range, or Rate of Pay

With NJ Professional Librarian’s Certificate:$30–$35 per hour. MLS/MLIS student:$26–$29 per hour.
