Recruiting Director, Accounting and Finance at VacoA privately held investment office is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of a multi-entity wealth platform. The organization oversees a diversified portfolio that spans private equity, real estate, marketable securities, and various alternative investments. This position offers meaningful exposure across accounting, reporting, and tax, with the opportunity to grow alongside a developing team.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will handle core accounting responsibilities, entity‑level financials, and year‑end tax preparation support. The role will work closely with internal leadership and external advisors to ensure the financial infrastructure of the office remains accurate, organized, and audit‑ready.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily accounting activities for multiple investment and operating entities, maintaining accurate books, records, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports; monitor investment activity, capital movements, and performance results.
- Process and track capital calls, distributions, contributions, and inter‑company transactions with strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate with outside accountants, tax professionals, and investment partners on annual filings, tax documentation, audits, and other reporting obligations.
- Maintain and refine accounting systems, workflows, and controls to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Assist with preparing financial summaries, investment overviews, and other materials used for internal planning and decision‑making.
- Reconcile brokerage statements, investment valuations, and other reports to ensure data accuracy across all accounts.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or within a family office, private investment, or multi‑entity environment.
- Strong grounding in accounting principles with working knowledge of core tax concepts, particularly related to partnerships and pass‑through entities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Excel or equivalent analysis tools.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal team members and external advisors.
- Highly organized, detail‑focused, and able to manage responsibilities across multiple entities and deadlines.
