Overview
Alpha School offers you the opportunity to design and lead an AI-powered reading program that delivers more meaningful student progress in 2 hours than conventional schools typically achieve in an entire day. You ll create adaptive workshop experiences, examine live student performance data, and partner with engineering teams to develop literacy solutions that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners simultaneously.
This position blends direct student interaction with cutting-edge program design, allowing you to make an immediate difference with individual readers while constructing a scalable system that transforms foundational literacy instruction across multiple school sites.
- Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating individualized motivational experiences that resonate with children and foster a lasting passion for reading
- Reviewing student performance metrics to iteratively improve your methods and generate practical insights
- Working alongside the technology team to assess and refine AI-powered literacy platforms
- Bachelor s degree plus advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
- Capable of assessing reading proficiency, forming student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independently of pre-written curricula
- Experienced with AI/adaptive learning platforms and able to respond effectively to student interactions within those systems
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
