Subtitle / Areas: BEGINNING SALARY – $15.95 per hour

• Age 18 at time of employment.
• Experience working with children – preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent.

Certification Requirements:

• Department of Children and Families Standards for Quality After school Programs (SQAP – 8 hours online as in‑service) or equivalent DCF‑AMAP Course (Achieving and Maintaining Quality After school Programs – 12 hours).
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 90 days of appointment.
• BAS Academy:
  Level I (24 hours online) for the School Age Certification – obtain training by starting within 90 days of appointment and completing within one year of appointment.
• Valid State Driver’s License.

Additional Qualifications (GP LEADER II)

• Two years’ experience working with children.
• Department of Children and Families Standards for Quality After school Programs (SQAP – 8 hours online or equivalent DCF‑AMAP 12 hours).
• BAS Academy:
  Levels I and II (48 hours online) of the School Age Certification.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• BAS Academy:
  Level III (24 hours online) of the School Age Certification – obtain training by starting within 90 days of appointment and completing within one year of appointment.
