Harris company is seeking motivated and talented electromagnetic effects (TEMPEST) test and design engineers to join the L3

Harris EMI/TEMPEST electrical design engineering core group. Our team is currently hiring experienced TEMPEST test, design, and analysis engineers interested in joining us. As a member of our team, you will be part of a diverse multi‑disciplined team of engineers operating in a highly agile environment using the latest tools and methodologies to develop your technical competence as well as your leadership skills at a company with huge potential for long‑term career growth.

Essential Functions
  • Perform TEMPEST test, design, and analysis of systems using HFSS and other software packages.
  • Coordinate test and verify EMI / TEMPEST design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various L3

    Harris systems.
  • Develop control plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Perform design analysis and implementation mitigation mechanisms to ensure EMI/EMC and TEMPEST compliance.
  • Evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to MIL‑STD‑461 and NSTISSAM 1‑92 standards.
  • Review supplier and partner qualification data for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical, electronic systems, mechanical systems interconnect and structures.
  • Perform TEMPEST, EMI/EMC nuclear hardening, HIRF, Lightning, RF co‑site and antenna coupling analysis and test.
  • Apply EMI/TEMPEST engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component interconnects and system performance and to optimize design.
Qualifications
  • Requires a currently active NSA TEMPEST CTP‑I or CTP‑II certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience;
    Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum US DOD SECRET Clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering; and RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • At least 1 year of related EMI/TEMPEST work experience or an equivalent of combined education and experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of the job area; practical knowledge of project management.
