Harris Corporation is seeking a Senior Specialist, Project Engineer for the Melbourne/Palm Bay, FL location. - Conduct and lead Peer Reviews and Table-Top Reviews.
- Work with the technical team to identify, mitigate, and close program risks.
- Serve as the technical lead of the project with cost and schedule responsibilities.
- Develops, presents, and delivers comprehensive presentations to the project team, upper management, and customer personnel in a clear and concise manner.
- Support successful startup activity, including staffing, robust mitigation plans and establishment of the technical baseline and change management process.
- Plan and manage the product/project on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Monitor the product/project from initiation through completion and/or customer acceptance.
- Develop, manage, and maintain all aspects of project-level risks, including mitigation, costing, and planning.
- Establish and execute detailed integrated master schedules and maintain detailed MS Project schedules.
- Use Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reports to manage project performance and review earned value metrics (CPI, SPI, TCPI, ETC).
- Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product and ensure requirements and specifications are met.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through implemented projects and maintain stakeholder engagement against project needs.
- Coordinate with EMs, talent acquisition, and supply chain on resource planning for engineering work.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment; interact with customers to anticipate and respond to needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with 4 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship required due to defense contract requirements. Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Experience executing throughout the project lifecycle including requirements flow down and allocation, design, development, test, and sell-off.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
- Earned value / Cost account management experience with cost and schedule responsibility.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload appropriately; methodical in approach.
- Broad Engineering experience across multiple disciplines; proficiency with MS Project and MS Office.
- Functional management experience or involvement in resource management forecasting and placement.
- Proficient in using DOORS for requirements management.
- Experience with Firmware and Software Requirements; knowledge of RF and Satellite communication.
