Harris Technologies has an opening for a Specialist, Systems Engineering in Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) to join our Mission Analysis Group (MAG). This position can be in Palm Bay, FL or Herndon, VA. The selected Specialist will work in a fast‑paced, geographically dispersed team to develop analytic toolsets focused on constructive simulation and experimentation across multi‑domains for a variety of customers, both internal and external.

Functions
  • Communicate with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors; influence others to accept practices and changes; conduct briefings with senior leaders.
  • Coordinate MS&A engineering efforts to integrate system performance and behaviors into operational analysis.
  • Design multi‑domain simulation capabilities in AFSIM, MATLAB and/or STK to support MAG technology and mission roadmaps, internal research and development, and programs of record.
  • Integrate Government‑off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS) and Customer‑off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) simulations, frameworks, models and analytic toolsets into existing software infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain analytic toolsets for each phase of the F2T2EA
    chain using sensor, effects, and communications technologies, including data visualization and Unity‑game engines for operations assessment.
  • Document model specifications and establish a repository of simulation capabilities and tools for reuse at multiple classification levels, while maintaining configuration management protocols.
  • Support programs and pursuits by creating models, simulations, and analysis products; determine requirements, develop simulation software, troubleshoot existing capabilities, and create software designs and test plans.
  • Support requirements development, system verification, and CONOPS development; work with technical leaders and SMEs to ensure modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities meet operational mission requirements.
  • Develop new simulation capabilities and processes for employment; enhance current analytic toolsets.
  • Support technical expos and roadshows by providing knowledge sharing of signature simulation capabilities and products.
  • Support knowledge transfer through coaching and mentorship of junior technical talent.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM fields (Software/Computer/Electrical/Aerospace/Systems Engineering, Physics) and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; or graduate degree with 2 years of experience; or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience executing simulation in government/industry MS&A analytic tools and frameworks: AFSIM, PIANO, STK/Astrogator.
  • Experience integrating government/industry simulations with MBSE tools:
    Cameo, Model Center, DOORS, Rhapsody.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Anaconda with Python, simulation code development in C++, C#, R, Python, MATLAB.
  • Agile development methodology, version control, and Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, Git, Tortoise Git.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Mastery of systems engineering concepts, methods, and state of practice.
  • Advanced experience supporting multi‑domain modeling, simulation, and analysis, including system‑thru‑mission‑level tools and frameworks.
  • Prior experience in aerodynamic systems, orbital mechanics, signal processing, sensor systems, or RF/EO/IR physics.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal skills, data visualization, and storytelling.
  • Advanced experience with government/industry MS&A analytic tools: AFSIM, PIANO, STK/Astrogator, MATLAB with Simulink, Python, Java.
  • Advanced experience with MBSE tools:
    Cameo, Model Center, DOORS, Rhapsody.
  • Desired:
    Top Secret/SCI clearance.
