Senior Test Engineering Technician

Pay Range: $35.00hr - $40.00hr Job Overview:
Test Engineering Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space hardware. Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system, and/or space vehicle level. Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills, and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is required. Prior experience with RF, optical, and/or digital technology is required. Work Environment: ESD environment requiring hair net, booties, smock, and straps.

Essential Functions:

Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations. Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction. Verify all test equipment is in calibration. Verify all licensed test software is not expired. Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures. Performs test and records required information. Document failures and report any anomalies to key stakeholders. Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or Test Stand GUIs.

Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight. Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs, and power supplies. Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.

Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Must-Haves (Hard Skills):
Experience operating RF and Digital test equipment and technology is required. Very strong computer skills with the ability to run automated tests, navigate directories, and utilize Windows and MS Office programs. Ability to strictly adhere to documented processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small, fragile, and detailed parts.

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a 2-year post-Secondary/Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Active Secret Clearance required. Preferred Additional

Skills:

Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills. Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de-mating high-density connectors, RF, and optical connections.

Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal, and thermal vacuum testing. Willingness to work overtime as requested. Forklift and Crane Certification or experience. Benefits:
