Harris Technologies is a trusted disruptor in the defense industry. This role provides onsite support at an overseas customer location, working independently at a high level with reach‑back support for complex issues that require engineering support. The individual will be responsible for deploying, troubleshooting, operating and training while embedded with the customer.
- Supporting customers onsite with complex communication equipment
- Supporting routine and scheduled maintenance on SATCOM terminals, RF equipment, baseband systems, antennas, power systems, and related network components
- Troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving hardware, software, and network faults
- Conducting system health checks, diagnostics, and performance monitoring
- Coordinating with engineering support teams and vendors for escalated issues, repairs, and system upgrades
- Supporting DoD projects/programs with preference for cross‑domain C4
ISR and/or Information Operations experience - Integrating and applying hardware and software on system/networks
- Providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within area of expertise
- Communicating within and outside the organization, including customers and vendors
- Communicating with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area
- Conducting briefings with customers and program leadership as needed
- Making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of the job area
- Providing support OCONUS embedded with the customer with reach‑back engineering support as needed
- Configuring, operating, and monitoring SATCOM equipment to ensure optimal link performance and availability
- Assisting in system integration with customer networks, tactical systems, or communications infrastructure
- Maintaining accurate logs of outages, events, configurations, and maintenance actions
- Delivering hands‑on training to customer personnel on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
- Serving as the on‑site technical subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of the SATCOM system
- Preparing and maintaining documentation including SOPs, maintenance records, configuration baselines, and technical reports
- Deploying to customer locations, sometimes in remote or austere environments, based on mission requirements
- Managing spare parts, tools, and system components to ensure operational readiness
- Supporting installation, upgrades, integration, and acceptance testing of new system components
- Other duties as required by customer and program
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or graduate degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or minimum 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- U.S. citizenship
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with current 5‑year update
- Ability to pass a polygraph
- Ability to obtain Security+ within one year of employment
- Experience supporting DoD projects/programs, preference for cross‑domain C4
ISR and/or Information Operations experience - Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Physical requirement: ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Ability to be in‑country with OCONUS customer for two years with periodic CONUS morale travel
- Hands‑on operational experience with Linux (CentOS/Red Hat) and Windows Server systems – software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair
- Familiarity with supporting major joint/combatant command software systems
- Familiarity with Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and/or Air Operations Centers (AOC)
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Docker‑Compose)
- Comfortable working in a command line/non‑GUI environment
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi‑disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
