The Accounting Senior Manager will oversee and manage the financial accounting activities within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) segment. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and leading a team of accounting professionals.
Essential Functions- Manage the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee the and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and development for a team of accounting professionals.
- Provide expert guidance in the areas of financial activity, analysis, and reporting to support program finance functions.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience with in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Familiarity with government contract accounting and compliance.
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft or similar ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
- Experience with financial statement preparation and external audits.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $103,000‑$191,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
