Salus Lifestyle Coordinator (Activities Assistant) is responsible for assisting the Salus Lifestyle Coach with providing a diversified program of individual and group activities that enable each resident to engage in cultural, spiritual, physical, political, social, and intellectual activities. The role promotes each resident’s potential and sense of usefulness to self and others.
Education & Experience- Experience in activity planning, preferably with seniors
- Experience and interest in working with seniors
- Creative activity skills
- Organizational skills
- Mature, pleasant, friendly, and cheerful personality
- State driver license with a clean driving record; completion of all HR policies and procedures for community driver
- Provide outstanding service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors.
- Facilitate socialization among residents.
- Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities.
- Coordinate joint programs with other program associates.
- Conduct or lead the majority of programs.
- Remain flexible in work schedule to accommodate special events and evening/weekend programs.
- Train, support, and instruct volunteers to assist with activities as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and help implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays.
- Coordinate family functions and events.
- Plan weekly excursions.
- Identify needed supplies for planned activities and communicate with the Salus Lifestyle Coach.
- Assist with transportation for activity outings and regularly scheduled group trips.
- Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments when needed, if certified and approved.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Salus Lifestyle Coach to ensure smooth operation of the program and to meet resident needs.
- Follow all emergency procedures.
- Understand safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Salus Lifestyle Coach and other community staff.
- Immediately advise the Salus Lifestyle Coach and Resident Care Director of any changes in physical or mental health of any resident.
- Promote the community positively and effectively communicate community values to residents, families, and associates.
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
- May be video recorded by devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
