HIRING BONUS - $1,000 (paid over 10 pay periods; requires remaining employed for 6 months to retain the bonus). Full-time position supporting clinics located across Pinellas County and Pasco County.

We are a team of over 130 optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, opticians, and eye care professionals serving more than 100,000 patients across 15 locations in the Greater Tampa Bay area. From routine eye exams and optical retail to medical optometry, ophthalmology, and surgical procedures, our patients receive end-to-end personalized care and service.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and skills. Candidate must be available to work Saturdays (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.). A onsite skills assessment may be required prior to an offer of employment. Certification (e.g., COA, COT) or similar credentials are preferred and proof of current certification is required.
Candidate will need to submit to and successfully complete a post-offer/pre-hire background check and drug test.
Responsibilities- Collecting and recording patient medical history
- Instructing patients on post-operative care, medication use, contact lens care and exam expectations
- Performing visual acuity testing, auto and Manifest Refractions (measurements for the glasses prescription), tonometry (eye pressure; Goldmann required)
- Measuring pupil size and reactivity using PERRLA
- Testing elements of eye movement
- Performing confrontational visual field testing, pachymetry (corneal thickness)
- Performing dry eye testing including Zone Quick and TBUT, interferometry, brightness acuity testing
- Participating in light cleaning and maintaining a sanitized environment
- Performing corneal topography, retinal nerve fiber layer measurements, retinal thickness/topography, fluorescein angiography, B-scan ultrasonography
- Assisting with contact lens fitting and instructing patients on insertion/removal
- Preparing for and assisting with in-office procedures including consenting patients
- Assisting with lasers or minor procedures
Candidate will be expected to provide their own transportation and travel to various Pinellas & Pasco locations to support coverage.
Qualifications- Required:
Must be able to work Saturdays - Minimum of one year in Ophthalmology
- Preferred Certification
- Associates Degree - preferred
- Superior interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to perform manifest refraction is required
- Ability to perform Goldmann tonometry is required
- Ability to effectively multitask
- Attentive to detail and accuracy
