$16.50/hr - $20.00/hr

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. For PTCB or ExCPT certified technicians, coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolve customer issues, and answer questions.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medication correctness, checking for interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to Walgreens policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
• Register sales on assigned cash register and handle cash.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Process manual claims for third party programs and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist pharmacy department with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and filing claims for overages/shortages or damaged goods.
• Assist with clinical services as required (blood/urine sample collection, labeling, coordination with clinics and external providers).
• Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with local medical community and external providers.
• Maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy department and assist with maintenance tasks.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated training program or state-required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete required PPLs requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.
