What you'll Do
The Senior Staff Nurse provides support to nursing staff members and provides leadership regarding coordination and oversight of staffing levels and skill mix for Crisis Care, Evening Weekend, and Triage functions to ensure optimum patient care in collaboration with and support of the Care Team Manager, including Organizational Initiatives, Regulatory Requirements, Quality Assessments, Performance Improvements, Team Meetings and other activities as appropriate.
The Senior Staff Nurse supports the coordination of care amongst IDT members and maintains excellent communication with both internal and external partners in care, is an active, formal mentor, first line resource, and direct supervisor to IDT members, and is a role model, providing teaching, collaboration, and guidance.

- Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSN) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Licensure:
Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse;
Valid Florida State Driver’s License. - Continuing education:
As required for licensure. - Certifications:
Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. - Post Offer Employment Testing (POET) or Fit for Duty examination (as necessary) with “Capable” result required.
- Strong preference for at least one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Strong preference for minimum of two (2) years Hospice experience.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.
- Must successfully complete critical thinking skills assessment.
- The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.
