Shift Lead

Position Overview

Shift Lead ponsible for opening/closing, cash handling, customer experience, operations, training, communication, and compliance to ensure a smooth store operation and a delightful customer experience.

$17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

• Open and close the store, including all required system start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Open the back door for deliveries.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience; greet customers and patients, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits, proactive help, needs identification, and service until satisfaction.
• Hold store keys and open/close without management when required.
• Coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including backdoor opening for vendor deliveries.
• Register all sales on the assigned cash register, including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
• Help evaluate and develop displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts in basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Ensure the Outdate program is followed.
• Set basic department prices and make daily price changes; display correct signage and complete any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities (cash report, cash counts, ledgers, bill payment) as necessary.
• Maintain clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance; request repairs when needed.
• Separate food items (e.g., raw vs. cooked), place products per policy, and use first‑in‑first‑out rotation.
• Maintain working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
• Provide assistance at the pharmacy window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
• Conduct bag checks of team members before they leave the store.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the manager.
• Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management staff by communicating assigned tasks and reporting disciplinary issues and customer complaints.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
