An Educator who assists in developing and implementing programs for Member Education for Desert Oasis Healthcare.

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Science or closely related field required. Current Registered Dietitian certification required.
• 1 year of clinical experience and patient education experience preferred.
• Must be able to work proficiently with computers and multiple programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detailed oriented and able to continually re-prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate professionally and interface with Medical Providers.
• Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays as appropriate to program needs.
• BLS required within 60 days of hire.
• At the discretion of DOHC/FHC management, this position has the potential to be a full or hybrid telecommuting position.

• Provide nutrition care consultation to members of DOHC regarding nutritional health care needs according to current nutrition standards.
• Provide diabetes and nutrition education in an individual and/or group setting.
• Evaluate and report results of nutrition appropriately.
• Utilize other disciplines knowledge and expertise to assist in problem solving and developing interventions.
• Ability to form and sustain effective relationships with clients, team members and health care providers
• Ability to manage time, resources and client caseload.
• Promote program to members, physicians and staff.
• Support the implementation of educational and clinical programs.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Sitting – Approximately 40% of day

• Lifting 0-10 lbs (charts, supplies) – approximately 15% of day
• Bending – Approximately 10% of day. Kneeling < 20%.
• Hearing/Visual Acuity – Adequate for use with computers, telephone and or Blackberry - Approx 70% of day
• Computer – Highly technical work environment – Must be able to work ≈7 hours/day using keyboard, mouse and monitor
• Reaching – Above head 75 degrees – approximately 5%.
• Hand grip dexterity – Approximately 70% of day
