Position
Johnson Service Group is seeking a Design Engineer. This candidate will be responsible for integration and design oversight of all aspects of weapon system design for various strike weapon systems including the AGM-158 XR (JASSM/LRASM) Flex family, AGM-183 (ARRW), NXGB/Razor, and other weapon system development efforts.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be capable of leading design efforts across multiple portfolio platforms, including design synthesis, Preliminary Design efforts (or similar) including PDR type reporting, Critical Design efforts (or similar) including CDR type reporting, cross‑discipline trade studies including CAIV, affordability, producibility;
Drawing Release, CCB Support and change management, production coordination, supplier technical coordination, MRB oversight and management, and FRB support activities and SOW scope tracking.
The successful candidate must have experience integrating multiple disciplines including aerodynamics (including hypersonic), materials and processes (including extremely high temperature materials such as C‑C and various metallics such as TZM and Rene), computer aided design (preferably CATIA V5), structural analysis, propulsion (both rocket and air‑breathing), thermodynamics, electronics and controls, and actuation systems. The successful candidate must have experience with the ARRW glide body design including unique production aspects including experience with MRB authority.
The successful candidate should be familiar with a variety of weapon system types including air‑breathing, hypersonic, and boost‑glider platforms.
The successful candidate must be capable of generating and presenting technical and administrative materials to a wide variety of audiences including customers, suppliers, and internal LM teammates. The candidate should be familiar with the organizational structure and operational requirements of the LM‑MFC organization.
The successful candidate should have experience supporting BA capture activities, program planning, and proposal development including cost estimation, schedule/planning development, and BoE generation. A successful candidate should also have experience supporting a variety of cross‑discipline technical teams at least at the IPT lead level.
Must Have Skills- 10+ recent years of CATIA V5
- 10+ years of metallic and composite experience
- Extensive hypersonic experience to support ARRW program
- Previous experience leading a team of designers
