• Designs industrial machinery and equipment, including tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments required for production or experimental use.
• Designs consider factors such as accessibility, cost-effectiveness, mobility, and performance requirements.
• Applies a comprehensive understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
• Independently determines and develops approaches to complex problems, providing technical solutions for a wide range of challenging issues.
• Acts as a liaison between designers, engineers, manufacturing teams, and tooling procurement regarding quality, cost, and schedule considerations for tool manufacturing planning.
• Leads initiatives to improve processes within tool design and planning product flow.
• Utilizes 3DX / Catia for design and produces technical 2D drawings.

• Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SAP within 6 weeks of submission.
• Minimum 1 year of design experience using Catia V5 or 3DX.
• Minimum 7 years of experience designing a variety of assembly tools for aerospace vehicles or similar industries.
• Minimum 1 year of experience creating 2D technical design drawings.
• Experience in tool fabrication.
• Familiarity with tooling types including structural assembly tools, fixtures, drill jigs, and lift/move tools.
• Experience authoring tool usage instructions or assembly work instructions.
• Manufacturing engineering support experience on the production floor.
• Experience with aircraft assembly and first article builds.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
