POSITION DETAILSThis position may be considered for O&M Tech level I, II, and III, with your leveling determined by prior experience. The hourly pay range starts from $32.57 to $47.87 based on expertise.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe primary focus of this role is to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, and electrical equipment to ensure safety, compliance, optimal performance, and maximum asset value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage work orders using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all relevant equipment.
- Operate and maintain solar facility systems, including inverters, DC collection systems, and auxiliary site equipment.
- Train and mentor fellow technicians, promoting best practices in safety and maintenance processes.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, identify performance issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance using advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Execute electrical maintenance and testing while adhering to safety procedures and codes.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control circuits utilizing diagnostic tools.
- Develop and update operating procedures to ensure efficient maintenance practices.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies while supporting operational processes.
- Assist with inventory management and requisition supplies for site operations.
Effective communication across various organizational levels is essential. Adaptable in both independent and team scenarios, you will support coordination with operations, engineering, and vendor partners. Familiarity with inverter platforms, SCADA systems, and medium‑voltage equipment will be beneficial.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Associate's degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR
- High School Diploma with at least 18 months of relevant technical training.
- Electrical background with a valid driver's license.
- Availability for day shift work and overtime as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and an understanding of power plant prints.
- Ability to work in a solar plant environment, including climbing and walking long distances, and the capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Associate degree in Solar Technology or Renewable Energy.
- Hands‑on experience in solar or electrical maintenance.
- Competency in AC/DC theory and power electronics.
- Familiarity with CMMS, SCADA interfaces, and data entry tools.
- Adept at reading electrical prints and equipment manuals.
