UHS is currently recruiting forour Hospital Administrator Program at Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center (Palmdale, CA). Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents and surrounding communities. The hospital features 190 licensed acute care beds, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack), and a 35-bed 24‑hour emergency department.

The Center for Wound Care provides treatment for people with chronic non‑healing wounds. This comprehensive wound healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy. More than 400 physicians are on the medical staff at Palmdale Regional Medical Center and they have around 900 employees.

Position Summary

The selected candidate will provide day‑to‑day operations for various hospital departments and be assigned projects to further the strategy of the Hospitals. He/she will implement the strategy of the CEO and COO and will manage their assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize the quality of services and the profits of the hospital. The individual will also be enrolled in our corporate Leadership Development classes to further their development as a junior executive and prepare the individual to become a COO within UHS.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects is required.

Skills:

Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations. Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees is required.

Education:

Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA or related program).

Work experience:

  • Hospital management experience at a mid level (2‑7 years)
  • Acute Care Hospital Experience required
  • Must be open to Relocation
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Strong critical thinking skillset
  • Administrative Residency or Fellowship a plus
