We’re looking for an experienced RN Manager for Labor & Delivery to join a hospital-based team in Bakersfield. This role is ideal for a nurse leader who enjoys being present on the unit, supporting staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

As the L&D Nurse Manager, you’ll oversee daily unit operations, support and guide nursing staff, and work closely with physicians and hospital leadership to maintain strong clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

• Managing and supporting Labor & Delivery nursing and ancillary staff
• Overseeing daily staffing, scheduling, and unit operations
• Being visible on the unit and available to staff and physicians
• Promoting patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance
• Coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members
• Monitoring clinical outcomes, incidents, and quality metrics
• Ensuring the unit is prepared for emergencies and operates safely

• Active RN license in the state of practice
• NRP certification (required)
• BSN required; MSN preferred
• Experience in acute care hospital nursing
• Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and team‑building skills
